That's a generous staircase. I'm sure John had to make some reasonable accommodations for size. I once walked up to the top of these temples. Going up not too bad. Coming down - trouble. The stairs are so narrow and steep that from the top you can't even see the steps. It's like stepping off into empty space. Most people had to basically crawl down them crab style. Good thing there is no apparent tort law in Mexico. I can't imagine how many tourists tumble to the bottom.

I think I am going to have to buy a complete temple. I have absolutely no place to put it, but it has to be one of the most incredible things ever produced in the hobby.^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool

AND …. consider that this is NOT the final painted version … just wow.
Just think of what the end product might look like .:rolleyes2:

As the saying goes, every collector makes their decision about what to buy and not to buy and so forth but if you have no room for it, why buy it? Of course, it’s amazing but so are a lot of other things. I try to limit what I have because I don’t want my house or collecting area looking like a warehouse. If I want to add a piece, something must be subtracted.

I'll display it - I display everything I buy - and I won't subtract anything else, I'll just find a way to squeeze it in.{sm4}

From what I saw of the photos that Mike Tarantino took of your attic, plus the photos you’ve posted from time to time, it doesn’t seem like you have any remaining appreciable room. However, I wish you luck.

Louis,

Better yet, you can keep it my house and come and see it anytime you want. I'll even dust it for you.

I'm going to need luck - or the ability to restructure my displays like an NFL GM restructures contracts.{sm2}

I am trying to imagine what a squeezed temple display looks like. Kind of "Harry Potter Bus" concept I assume.

My calculation on a minimum display based on the temple having a flat back would be 35 1/2 in wide by 30 in deep. That would allow 11 1/2 in area around the inner walls for figures.

A custom made cabinet would be required as I don’t know of one available. You could double the display and end up with 3 foot by 5 foot glass top coffee table. The only advantage to that is it would be too heavy for the better half to pick up and hit you with it.

The other question I have is how do you box /package a 3 foot wall section for transport and sales?

Nice piece but I don’t know how many complete sets will be sold based on price and size.

I wish John success many of these large display just don’t sell in big quantities. Ron Barzo experienced that in his playsets. Most required at least a 4 foot square area to display.

Will be putting the temple on top of a cabinet along wih any figures made to go with it. ( Priests, etc.)
The gateway and wall sections will be displayed separately on a self, as a backdrop for a battle scene featuring JJD Aztecs, Spaniards and Indian allies.
- Easy Peazy.

This is really a Fantastic piece. I've only visited the ruined remains of temples in South America so I'm really looking forward to seeing this reproduced in it splendor. :salute:::salute:::D

I have the answer to issues with space. Move countries, change jobs, buy a new place in said new country. Pack up 12,000 toy soldiers, vehicles, planes and many 100's of scenic items and put them into storage in original country. Then start with a clean slate and start collecting as if you were new to the hobby. The Aztec temple will look so good as the center piece to my new collection! Shhhh don't tell the wife though!!!!!!!!!

When can this be ordered? When will we know the prices?

Don

35" is the total length with all 3 wall pieces (wall, corner & gate). Breaking those down into 3 separate pieces makes it not any different than shipping any other diorama pieces.

I will have to figure how to hand carry this temple complex from HK to Singapore. Each qtr, I will probably end up with a few boxes even though JJD only releases one to two at a time, they will still accumulate to 3 to 4 big boxes each time I carry back. But certainly, they will finally make a wonderful display.
