Back from London and it rocks!!! (1 Viewer)

Six hours sleep and i'm up again!.Everything i saw yesterday looked so good.Oz,that Gestapo car looks the business. There is i believe another one with Albert Speer stepping out of it.Trying hard to remember everything Andy said!.He mentioned he was thinking at some point of doing another M10 for Normandy, would welcome that. Also he is thinking of more Fields of battle stuff he mentioned possibly more Dunkirk Brits.

The evening do was really fun, great atmosphere and very convivial. The charge of the light Brigade (and crimea generally)looks very good.(Will be the first non WW2 stuff i buy). Our gentle campaign for Brit paras was so worth it and it was nice to hear the announcement from the man himself. We all got a signed pic of the charge and a real nice polo shirt with the valley of death poem on the back.

I did check out NMA/HB but not much to say as there was nothing new.And i'm sorry John but i had a look at collectors showcase and ugly, ugly ugly.Yesterday really belonged to K&C UK and Andy himself. This London show as many people were saying is fast becoming one of the best on the circuit. In all my years of collecting i have never had such a good relationship with the company i buy from. The whole Neville family are such friendly open people that they make the whole buying/collecting experience a joy.It was a pleasure to see them all again yesterday.

So to some up K&C Rock,Andy rocks,LONDON ROCKS! and i am one happy K&C fanatic. Now id better take my darling, patient wife some breakfast in bed.

INTO THE VALLEY OF DEATH!

James, thanks for the pictures. Sounds like a good time was had by all, what did you end up bringing home with with you?:D

I caved in straight away and bought the Figarti Tiger. It's awesome.
They only had 2 or 3 of each version and they sold out pretty quickly. I went for the Normandy version but the winter one was extremely nice too.

Here's another pic of the camels. I posted the same one twice before.

For thos interested in the ACW era Andy didn't really give any details of what sort of theme they would be though he did imply it would be something a bit different from the other manufacturers.

He also mentioned how this year they intended to do a Custer's last stand series but that got put on the backburner in favour of the Alamo series.

I didn't get chance to take any photos of the Light Brigade figures as I was too busy chatting and eating!

I can say that they looked very impressive.

The first release is a vignette of 3 members of the 17th lancers attacking a Russian gun and crew. The Russian figures are reacting to the lancers and it all fits together perfectly.
It's all seperate releases though so You don't have to get the whole thing.
Apparently this range will be added to every 6 months or so.

For a cameraphone, not bad. The Vickers is an idea that mentioned this year about being his July surprise. Wonder what happened to it. Those Vichy camels look like quite wonderful. I just picked up one of those old Camel Corps so looking forward to this.

I'm sure we'll see the Crimea soon enough. Any World War I photos or descriptions of what and when? I'm sure this can't make Britains or Old Northwest too happy. I, for one, had been thinking about buying some. I, of course, will wait.

Guys

Sorry will be brief for now and report back more as only just got back up from London.

WWI No pics as only in sketch concept point. I do know more but unfortunatly as you can imagine what they will be doing is of interest to more than just us! However it is early WWI.

The pictures Eazy took of the new masters all will be early next year. Andy also mentioned he is thinking of doinmg a Crusader tank for 8th Army.

ACW is back in favour with the guys you see being rebels.

Combat was righ they are the Vechy (Spelling)troups for the AK range

PARAS PARAS PARAS!!! no time scale set but there was no secret that Andy is looking to have this done for mid year and a few sets, defo first outing in Chicago 07 and maybe a soft UK launch in UK at Military Odysey.

Our range is CRIMEAN 1854-56 starting with the Charge of the Light Brigade. Can i just state that this was OUR want not Andy although i know he was very happy that we wanted to do this range and especially open it with the Charge. We will be adding every 6 months, we will be covering all areas of the Crimea. I will post better pics in time. This is the autograph sheet that the evening members got. by the way always in MATT.

Competition.

LOUIS WON.... YOur polo will be in post Monday. I would point out Louis won after i announced a competition (your competitive streek Louis)

However we will also be giving Rob a prize as he guessed before we set up the competition (plus he got a polo last night)

Very tired as got out of bar at 2.30am and then up at 7 and drove home. Very busy show will be back on later to answer as many questions as possible

regards

Tony

The Crimean War stuff looks quite good. Congrats to Tony and the rest of the Nevilles on a wonderful exclusive line!

I would very much like to see a photo of the Feisler Storch and the Gestapo Car with the French Resistance prisoner. Tony, Panda, Anyone?

The Crimea looks outstanding. When you say you're doing it every 6 months, is this the only one you're doing initially or will be there others? Also, will you be making landscapes (part of the SP series) to go with it or maybe have a tie-in with JG?

If you're only doing it every so often, that will probably work well with the pocketbook. I really look forward to pictures and would like to get the brochures that you produce.

Also, I believe you said you would be making it available to us Yanks. Will that be direct or through dealers here in the US. If you have an idea of pricing, I would be interested in that as well.

Fred thats very funny i liked that!.Easy thanks for reminding me i'm awful at remembering names,it was really nice to also meet Scott and clive.

Just when you're wondering how much better K & C can get, they step it up the proverbial notch. Kudos to Andy, Mike and Tony and everybody else.

Sorry Louis, I was too busy with the opposition to take photos, but I will become a Crimean collector, the picture Bob put up doesn't do them justice. (about that drink Mike...):D

Thanks to Sue Neville (she's going up for sale on ebay this week as just retired):) , Mike, Bob Tony and everyone for last night. Great to see Andy again, in great form as usual but looking a bit kn******. Take care Andy please, you have such great work to do.

Can't wait for 2007, must work harder......

Also brilliant to put a face to Rob, Arnhem44mad, Easy - and all the other great guys we met last night. Especially super to see the two 'younger' collectors there last night, both very impressive young men their parents could be proud of. Thanks again to the Nevilles.

PS where are you Clive - don't be shy....

Best wishes everyone, Kevin

I agree with everyone that the Crimea stuff looks very good and i can't wait to put that first vinnete together.

Andy showed me a photo of an oasis scene featuring the Storch,Camel group with Panzer MK 2 behind and it looked cool,i think these items will prove very popular.Easy your pics were very good, how happy are we about the Para's!

I hadn’t intended on going to the show as I was meant to be in London yesterday overseeing an installation job for a client, but as luck would have it my services were not required so I managed to get across London and got to the show just after lunchtime.
My first impression was one of a friendly atmosphere and (since the use of the hall across the courtyard) much more room to wander around. As I didn’t have much time I went to have a look at the K&C UK stands where I found one continuous line of diorama’s and displays (I wish I had taken my camera).
I first met Mike & Sue about 4 years ago when I joined the collectors club, but they were all busy with customers so I made my way to the end where the Streets of Old Hong Kong display was. There I found Andy lurking in the corner on his own! I quickly introduced myself and we had a talk about me deviating from Napoleonic’s & SOHK to starting collecting the Crusaders (you just have to see the Saracens!).
Sue Neville came over and said that Andy had just missed an expert opinion on his Egyptian range! Apparently a self styled Egyptologist had made a few negative suggestions including the size of the Dancing Girl’s equipment:eek: , the colour of the Temple Façade, the Guardsmen’s shield design, the Hunting Pharaoh (whether he would be carrying his own bow) etc. Andy’s response was that maybe the guy should make his own range of figures and then see who sells most. My opinion is that never admit to being an expert, an Ex is a has-been and a Spurt is a drip under pressure:D
Anyhow, a real pleasure to meet Andy at last and I look forward to the next time.
I bought the Matt version of the Lion Dance set (wow what detail) and just had time to have a brief walk round the rest of the show before I had to make my way back across London to catch the train home.
Overall, I was well impressed, but not as much as those who went to the evening event it seems. The desert version of the MKIV looks like a must have companion for the Dingo and the Crimean range looks like a winner as well.
I just wish I could have spent more time looking at all the excellent offerings from Britains, HB, NMA, Figarti and all the others on show.
There will always be next time.
Regards
Jeff

Tony-
The "Charge" set looks great. I think the Brits might win this time if the first release is any indication.

Guys

Will have to live by proxy on here.

Tony or any of the other guys........some questions?

When is the Crimean out?
Did the guys give indication of prices?
