Thanks Wayne, Vicki, Tom and anyone else involved{eek3}, looking forward to this structure, very useful. Order in. Robin.

I hope the door and the window are made to open !!!

It gets VERY HOT in the tropics

John

Agree John it would make it more versatile. Perhaps just leave a door and window space open. Robin.

Wayne...

there was a woman at the Texas Toy Soldier show last year that made some extremely detailed and very nice tiny Viet Cong bamboo structures with real bamboo...they looked fantastic...I almost bought them just to own them even though I had no use for them...I don't know who she was...and I don't have any pictures....but I bet Andy could give you some info on her if you asked him...

The person who Mike is referring to who makes the bamboo huts is Scott Schleh, email: mrclaycars@aol.com
In fact he initially did them at my request as I was looking for some hooches to be used with the VietNam figures he did for me. He did hooches in both 1-32 & 1-18th for me. He is the same guy who does the military trains.
He will be at OTSN this year. I recently talked to him and he is currently busy preparing for OTSN but if interested contact him.

Gary...

thanks for that post...

I really wanted these...
as I don't think I could have made them as nicely as they did...
but didn't buy them...
as I thought I had no use for them...

and regret that now...

so hopefully I will get a second chance at Chicago this year...

they were really nice...

when I got home...

I realized I could have used them with my JJD's Old Yangshou figures...

which I hope John will expand on...

but I don't remember a guy behind the booth...
it was a woman...

guy:smile2:

Hope the roof come so ff as well,so you can put troops inside.

The plan is for 2 versions of the jungle hut, one as a basic background display piece and the second version with open windows/doors and removable roof that you can place troops inside.
If these sell well then we plan on making a bigger version so that a small jungle hamlet can be put together.
We are also toying with the idea of some small animals/livestock to go with it.
Let us know your thoughts as we value your input.

Best wishes Vicki

You are thinking outside of the hut (box), all good ideas. Jungle animals interesting. Livestock would useful in all sorts of scenes, so would be most welcome. A Japanese radio setup in one of the huts with outside aerial could look good. Hope the huts take off as the idea of hamlet sounds great also. Robin.

Like the idea of the radio hut Robin, could be another option for a smaller building later on.
Thank you!

This all adds up for all the Christmas present to be mine, as there is no money left to buy anything else:eek:Robin.

Thinking for the larger hut, perhaps it should incorporate a veranda so figures can stand out of the rain and interact with the hut also. Robin.
