Here we go,

With the current increase in prices, I think a thread where we're talking about the sets where you get more for your hard earned cash is more than welcomed.

To start this thread, I would strongly suggest for anyone who's interested in the north african theater to get the Desert Panzer (AK030) for 105$. The tank is pretty well done itself but for that price you'll get 3 FULL BODY italians which are perfect 1:30 scale and NOT 1:32 like in many other armor releases... With the current price of each figure at 30$ and more, that's equivalent to 90$ only for 3 full body soldiers plus another half one !! Basically, you'll get that tank free !! Grab it as long as it last.. One of the best set for the money can buy.

Enjoy

Alex the cheap guy.

I've got this set. The tank is superb, one of the best K&C has done. On the other hand, the Italians that came with it were quite crude and roughly painted. I've noticed that the figures that come with some K&C vehicles are not painted to quite the same high quality as those in figure sets. In certain cases, perhaps a business decision is made to focus on the paintjob on the vehicles and the figures are sort of after-thoughts.

Tell you what, with the increased financial problems we are facing I believe

Value is going to become a Very Important Factor in Sales!

I reckon the M10 tank destroyer at $115 is Excellent ,[as are quite a few
past releases]
Although all the new sets are ramping up in price at
least in this buisness existing stock seems to stay at the
original price as opposed to across the board rises.

The Winter M-10 is an excellent model and I like the DUKW at the same price - but you can't buy everything. Heck with the way the economy is heading a lot of collectors won't be able to afford even these older sets

Oz you could well be right , being able to afford it and being able to justify it
at the moment is another question.
I want to know where all these real estate agents have gone who said prices
will only go up ,they should be pelted with historicly acurate military miniatures ;).
As good old Fraser on Dads Army used to say 'doomed doomed where all doomed'

Don't tell that Kiwi real estate agents tell fibs as well, my faith in human nature is shattered  :D

Yes shocking isnt it , Just aswell we have such sterling politicians to lead
us out of this mess with their finger on the pulse judgement calls

The Winter M10 tank destroyer with 4 figures and the Normandy Panther with 4 figures are both great deals in the 100 dollar range. I mean the willy's patrol jeep is $105.00, so for almost the same price, you could get one of those big tanks. If you are thinking about them, I would grab them, because you are never going to get that much tank and crew for that kind of money again.

Can't argue with that!

Two excellent items, and as stated great values!

I would say that the best bargains left are the the following: 1-AK Desert transport $79.00 2- AK stug III assault gun $109.00 3- Winter German flakpanzer38 $105.00 4- M5 Stuart light tank with 3 figures $89.00 5-Normandy panther/4 figures $109.00 6- M10 Tank destroyer/4 figures $115.00. Finally the retired U.S. M12 155mm howitzer, although $165.00, this big shot artillary piece comes with 5 figures, and is the only allied K&C tank related item with the fire power decimate those big German cats. A future artillary piece of this magnitude will easily cost $250.00, if the current prices are any indication.

For ancients it is hard to beat the value of the Conte plastic Spartan line. Yes they are plastic but they paint up great and when painted they are a perfect match for the Conte metal Spartans and Persians; the detail is actually superior in some respects. With a pre-order price of around $2.80 per figure and multiple poses and interchangable parts for each figure your effective cost is less than 20% of that. Now to me that is a bargain.

Opel Blitz Truck is still a good deal at $79.00. Would easy cost over $100 now days. AK 10.5cm Field Gun at $149.00 is not bad you get a 5 man crew.

The M10 tank destroyer is good but thats a 2006 piece and it would be a little bit more if they made it this year. The Panzer 4 is an excellent. I have to agree with you.

I agree with you 100%

Excellent choices and I would recommend collectors get their hands on these cheaper alternatives until the economy picks up and more people can afford the newer more expensive items.

Btw, I'm surprised there are still plenty of Normandy/Summer Panthers in the shops, maybe they made to many of them. Sure the wheels looked crap with all the vegetation gunk in them, but it has a really good paint job and excellent figures.

Yeah Basically you get the field gun free with this one... and those 5 guys are as well painted and the same size as regular releases of figures..

Not much attention is given to the Pacific theater of operations. So I have to say that the U.S. amtrack troop transporter with 2 figures for $89.00 is also a great deal. It is the only piece of Armor now available in the Iwo Jima category.
