Excellant pics Redhugh. This is one range i've never collected, its good to see them and you are right they work well with the base.

Very nice Hugh, always great to see collector pictures of some of the smaller ranges like that!

Are the more modern "Iwo Jima" K&C Japanese mixed in with some of the older figures in that scene? Always remember being captivated by an ad in a military history magazine featuring that older range, long before I even knew what King & Country or Toy Soldier collecting was!

Cheers,

Molloy.

Thanks Rob and Molloy

I agree Molloy ,there is something captivating about the 'old' jap releases. I think quite simply they are great Toy Soldiers, colourful, dynamic , great poses and easy to set up..they are ready to battle:)

There are some modern figures in there, including IWJ026 General Kuribayashi, (a del prado figure standing next to him,), IWJ025 Rifle Grenade Team and IWJ027 Mortar Team.

I have the other 'old' and 'new' lying down figures but haven't quite figured what to do with them:) I am attempting a diorama with the 2 conte landing craft and K&C amtrak, so I figure I need some sort of hill top set-up rolling down to the beach (that one will take a while and a bit of head scratching:rolleyes:)

Nice pics Red; I'm a huge fan of both the older and newer Japanese figures, a real head scratcher as to why they weren't more popular with the collectors, perhaps some Aussies and Chindits thrown into the mix would have helped, who knows.....

In my opinion the older Japs as well as the older Marines really have held up, meaning as good as the newer figures have gotten these blend in perrfectly. While the early Germans really are noticebly poorer in quality.

It is nice to see them in a dio like this. It is a shame it did not do so well, considering the sacrifices of the men these figures portray.

Great display, no matter what popularity says, the Pacific theater is one I'll always own.
