Ron Barzso JUST confirmed this to me today.
Back in 2000 (I think), he was working on the Treasure Island Pirate Ship and had a "small" pirate ship produced. But he wanted a larger ship for the Treasure Island theme... So he put 65 hulls in storage and there they've remained for the past 15 years. He has very recently figured out rigging for the ship and they will be available at the Chicago show, barring any unforeseen problems in receiving some of the accessory pieces needed. Here are the details:
Each 28" long pirate ship will include 5 sails, wooden masts, 2 fighting tops, ship's wheel, 8 - six pdr. cannons, 2 swivel guns, etc. NO CREW. Price will be $129.95 each. There are only 65 of these in available and they will not be rerun. Once these are gone, they are gone. There will be a strict limit of 2 per customer at the show, so that other collectors (not attending the show) will have a chance to purchase one of these).
I will post pictures of the ships with the above details on Ron's web site as soon as he sends me the photos.
Note: there is nothing else new from Ron this year.. no new figures or playsets.
Thx,
Jim
