We are checking out an interesting lot of random soldiers to put on Changing Guard Auctions but are quite unfamiliar with a lot of glossy companies and their markings. I will be posting information on various markings on unboxed figures today in hopes of identifying the company. If anyone can help us play Guess Who I would appreciate your input!
The first two are:
1) An N with an M under it
2) either an M or a W with a line going vertically straight through the middle

I will post more as I receive the info. Thanks in advance!

Next question:
3) Are Britains always labeled Britains on the bottom? (nothing like someone packing random figures in whatever box is handy )

They should be Shannon, except if they are VERY early versions (these could have had a paper label and perhaps could have fallen off) They may also be marked Herlad instead of Britains (this applies to plastic of course).

2 could be Trophy, would have to see the figure, sometimes the t went thru the m and the bottom of the t was not finished. If you can post a pic example or email of 1 and 2 I can tell you for sure.

Shannon,

If you post some pictures of the bases, it would help.

2) might well be Trophy of Wales.

Raymond.

Hi guys,
I can't post pictures--the figures are being sorted through in another state (the State of Confusion in my opinion!)by the seller and a deployed Pete and they are working with a master list, a bunch of loose figures or figures in boxes that may or may not belong in said boxes and a deadline of about 6 more hours before Pete needs to catch a plane back to MN . They've been at it for two days now.
We weren't anticipating quite so many unboxed figures to have to match up to the master list and Pete doesn't have access to the internet so that's why I'm posting his questions instead of him. Crazy, but it will all work out.
Thanks for all the comments and input so far.
Regards,

A photo may make it easier. :)

John Tunstill Soldier's Soldiers. Anybody know about them? Anybody collect them?

Thank you all for your input-however the deal is officially off. Thank you for sharing your glossy knowledge with us--it helped the seller get a few figures back in the correct boxes.
Wow! What a rich and varied history toy soldiers have! My hat's off to you who know and love all these cottage industry glossies!

Regards,
