Bataille de la table 1750 (2 Viewers)

That's how I felt 2 years ago when I was about the only collector doing photo stories of John's Snowshoe series. It has been fun to have others finally joining in. And Mike I think you have done a great job in the last year drumming up interest in John's figures and photographing them to share. You can sense John's excitement these days!

Randy...

I know what you mean Randy...but I have always enjoyed your work...I got spoiled on the quality of your photos and vignettes long ago...while my goal never was to drum up interest for JJD...I have to admit...I do get excited when I see someone showing photos of the same figures I collect...I know a lot of people on the forum do collect his figures...I just wish there were camera buffs that showed off their collections...I get so many ideas when I see how they elect to display their figures...

Pete...your structures are very nice and fit extremely well with your figures...

Yes I agree, you're both right..Sometimes I think only one or two people post photos. You've both shamed me into action!!!!! But please carry on posting yours.

Massed ranks ala 'bataille de la table' do look good as that is how they fought in formation, but I think smaller groupings bring out the detail of individual figures better.

Can't wait for more Sudan and NWF!

Not my theme more's the pity, but love to see displays that have the 'wow' factor, which I attempt to strive for being an army builder myself. These are great figures from JJ. I would image everyone's dream would to be able to leave their displays permanently setup so they could get constant enjoyment from their hobby, without the drag of packing it away and not seeing the light of day for months. Is your series completed or do you have more or hoping for more in the future?
This display keeps me motivated with my themes.
cheers,
Robin.

looks like you have been hitting the new BM's pretty hard to match up with the old BM's...I love the old marching sets...BM05 and 06...wishing I had kept a couple of mine...

I made a mistake here...I think Jenkin's collectors knew I meant to say BM04 and 05...

Quite a collection you have there! Can't beat 18th Century massed formations.

I have started collecting JJD's Sudan figures, roll on next month.

Thanks!
I don't think a collection is ever complete! Actually there are a few gaps, but mainly from Frontline.
Love to be able to put a large display out permanently, but you'd need a museum for that. Can't leave them out of cabinets for too long because of the dust. Can't bear leaving them in boxes....defeats having a collection IMO. If you can't display them.....

Thank you Jeff!
Looking forward to more Sudan and NWF (Conte)

Pete...

I was looking at your Culloden Moor...which is beautiful...

but you seem to be having the same problem I have...

a lack of Jacobites for the huge British lines...

I bought multiples of Barrell's firing, loading and thrusting figures...

but only have 20 different Highlanders...

hopefully many more are on the way to even the sides out somewhat...I desperately need more Highlanders...no matter how I set mine up...they look so outnumbered...
