P-38's are great. Where did you get Charles MacDonald's (475th FG, PTO) "Putt Putt Maru" in ETO invasion stripes? Did it come like that or did you repaint? -- lancer

Re: battle for arnhem....

This is a K&C warbird I believe, Louis can confirm. It is a beauty - I also have some more shots I will try to shrink at some stage and in Vol2 of the book we have nearly done there is also a fantastic later version of a P38 with clear canopy and more detail.

These older planes have a charm of their own though don't you think?

Re: battle for arnhem....

Nice to see the Red Devils loading on to the Gliders for there's no dobt they'll be need based what's shown of the German Armor which sems to be on hand. Let's hope that the USAAF does it's job in supporting the Red Devils. As always it's a pleasure Kevin viewing your photos of the Battle for Arnhem.

Its the most common markings K&C did P38's in back in the early 1990's. Andy has two early production P-38's in different markings in his private collection in Hong Kong.

In the new production, K&C did Dick Bong's P38, Marge.

Re: battle for arnhem....

Thanks Louis.

Meanwhile, Student's 1st Parachute Army were making the 30 Corps advance as difficult as possible....................

Re: battle for arnhem....

Luftwaffe crews arm aircraft for their offensive - they often had local superiority in this campain over Holland.

Thanks to Chuck (Evilchuck) for allowing me to photograph these beauties.

Re: battle for arnhem....

More nice shots Kevin. Like the scout on hs own in particular TM Terrain building in the background?

And the last shot with the 3 armed Fallschirmjager is just scary ;)

Re: battle for arnhem....

The Red Devils sure have their hands full Kevin and once again how nicely your photos are telling the story.

Re: battle for arnhem....

Around 40-60,000 Germans were allowed to escape from the Breskens pocket, to make 30 Corps job so much harder.

Meanwhile the German reserves were mobilised and elements were sent from the Reichswald area to around Nijmegen...............

Rod, I am so upset, you didn't buy our book!:D

They are from the first K&C Arnhem series, part two, around 2000, after the first part in 1996 - Louis will correct me if I am wrong.

The Daimler came in two versions, one with a commander and this with three guys drinking tea.

Best wishes

Re: battle for arnhem....

I have two of these sets!:D
One however with a missing fire piece, which a certain collector has never rectified!:mad:

Kevin, I do love your book, even if I am not fan of Market Garden I always appreciated your Battle of Arnhem saga (the best photos around), but I am very poor lately, I did not bought any Toy soldiers since Chicago (still paying the Chicago expenses), so forgive for that, and soon the situation improve I will contact you.

Best regards

Rod,

I apologise for the British sense of humour, please do not take me literally. I am sorry if I caused any offence.

Very best

Kevin
