Here is my second of 3 VN dioramas created for the Chicago show next week. It depicts D company, 1/5th Marines capturing the Dong Ba gate of the Citadel in Hue during the Tet offensive on 15 Feb 1968 after several futile attempts. Its based on an iconic picture from the battle. Needs a few more details, but the big stuff is done.

Very well done Pat. I can see what a lot of detailing you've put into your diorama.
To me the original photos of the storming of the Gate tower were the Iconic photos of the Battle of Hue.

Last year I did my own version of the tower latter in the day from the side where the assaults for the tower took place, though no where near as much detailing as yours Pat. I need to get better at portraying the brick arches better. Anyway here's the links to the threads with the photos.

I think you are going to have a lot of interest in your Vietnam dioramas at Chicago and they'll be getting sold quickly and you'll be getting commissions to do more.

Thanks Steve-I saw yours which were great-the Battle really devastated that beautiful and historical series of structures as you've depicted- in the last several years, the Vietnamese have repaired and reconstructed most of it to its former glory, which is now a major tourist attraction-the irony is palatable......

I'd like to go and visit Hue and Vietnam in general, someday and see all these places.
