I thought I would get the contents of my K&C UK Crimean War collection out of the cabinet and see what they looked like in battle! My apologies for the “Terrain” but a tablecloth will have to suffice for the meantime.

As you can see the Russians could benefit from a few more Hussars.

This range is going from strength to strength and I am looking forward to getting the next releases in December.

Very nice looking figures Jeff. At the Chicago OTSN show I saw at least one completed diorama using these "guys" and it looked just superb with the terrain features. You have a great beginning of a really neat dio which would be fun and enjoyable to do. Thanks for sharing.

Mike

Brilliant, Jeff, and you know I agree about this range going from strength to strength. I have never seen mine all set up like this together either, so thanks for giving us a preview.

Dave

Those are great looking figures and i hope you have a lot of fun building and adding to the scene over the next few years. I would love to get these figures but my original foray into toy soldiers was the frontline crimea range which i went hog wild on. But boy do those kc figures look good.

Actually Mike it was your "The Fall of Acre" thread that has inspired me to get them out of the cabinet, I would like to build a proper diorama with terrain features just as you have done for your Crusaders.

They are good, but at a price!

Do you have any photo's of these? This period has taken over from Napoleonics as my main interest now.

I have to learn how to get photos on the computer. I have near 100 of the thin red line being attacked by the three different regiments of russian cavalry. I have the light brigade charging 4 russian guns and probably around 50 russian infantry. I also have rows of the british cavalry waiting to attack. These are all frontline gloss figures. And i must say the russians in their greatcoats are heavy figures. There great sets.

Whoa, that sounds fantastic. I hope you can get some photos up on here for us to admire. That sounds like a great collection. I was just considering moving into Frontline's Crimea range when K&C's new stuff was announced. I was thinking of starting a Crimean War social group if there would be interest. Let me know and I'll try to set that up.

Dave

Okay, I've just gone ahead and set up a social group, so please feel free to join up and add your favorite photos and etc.....:)

Excellent! Thanks for joining. So now if Bernard doesn't join spontaneously we'll have to send him a personal invitation, right? :)

Hey, thanks for reminding me about the anniversary. I guess timing of this group's creation is perfect then. 1st Lt. you say, well I guess he's been a busy poster. I'll have to pick up the pace of my own posts a little bit in that case.

It's just a coincidence that I posted this thread today and what with Dave starting the social group as well

For sake of ease, Jeff, here is a photo of a K&C 93rd Highlander next to one of my recently assembled Alma Figures Guardsmen. I could not figure out how to add the photo to the social group site without adding it to an album first. So, anyway, here you are........

Dave, I don't think you can, it has to be added to the album and then uploaded from there.

That is one excellent casting, doesn't look to bad next to K&C. You say you have a whole Brigade of these to paint?

Jeff

Yes, but it is a very small brigade.
