Qualifies as a 'WOW' factor. Huge even in this scale. A lot of enjoyment no doubt in setting this battle scene out.:salute::, Robin.

Love this period in history and you have created a great diorama.I only wish one of the other toy soldier makers would bring this theme out in a larger scale.Regards Greg.

Nice setup - I recognise a lot of the figures from my own collection - The Gripping Beast ones anyway - I'm guessing perhaps some Crusader in there?

Thanks for the kind words. Ratio is 1/10. 1 fig for every 10 real combatants.Evenly matched in numbers about 7,000 per side.
One evening to set up, one afternoon to fight it out. Both flanks turned, both of Harold's brothers killed, gaps along the line where Normans broke through the shield wall.
Maybe a year's worth of painting on and off.
Castings are Old glory, Gripping beast, Crusader, Foundry , Mirliton , Essex and Saxon miniatures by Colin Patten of Gripping beast fame.
Just started another Project. Baltic Crusades with Teutonic and Polish armies.

Just does not get any better as far as Medieval Wargame/dioramas go!
Have some Crusader castings headed my way cant wait to put a brush to them!

Did your 28mm Vikings face the Saxons at Stamford Bridge prior to Hastings?.....those poor Saxons having to fight to fronts!

You can get a 54mm display going with a mixture of Regal (New Zealand), WB FL and old Conte figures. Gary
