Yep defies description, thanks for finding this Mike. Thought it might have been your birthday present ^&grin, Robin.

Robin...I would be like you then...lol...needing another room...or house...to display this...but the video is really cool...my sister lives in South Dallas so I will definitely go see this next time I visit...

15 years in the making yikes. What I find fascinating is that everything is purpose built right down to each figure, each with their set position on the dio, telling their own story. Robin.

Robin...that's roughly 18ft x 18ft...bigger than my living room...if a figure falls over in the middle...you have lower the guy that's set set them upright by a rope...maybe they use one of those "extension grabbers"...^&grin

maybe they are glued in place...

on a side note...the horse corral is epic in itself...must be 50 mounts in that section...

A truly AWESOME Diorama, thanks for posting Mike. Sadly Model Displays are disappearing from Museums, another victim of Political Correctness perhaps, a pity considering how popular they are with the general public.

Thanks for posting this; so the one fella spent 18 years of his life making it, then it was purchased and now will be on display, nice to see his creation will be around for a long, long time, that is truly spectacular, he's got every minute detail down pat, what a work of art.

And yes, impossible to defend that compound with about 200 men, 1,000 would have had a hard time.

Many thanks Mike for posting Tom’s great Alamo diorama…It looks terrific!.
Back in 2013 K&C was commissioned to build a 70 square foot ‘Alamo’ diorama for the opening of the Briscoe Western Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas.
Because of space limitations we had a much smaller landscape area outside the Alamo’s walls however we did manage to accommodate over 2,100 Mexican infantry, cavalry and artillery at the pivotal point of the battle when some of Santa Anna’s men managed to breach the North Wall defences and begin to descend into the main courtyard.

I well remember my late brother Gordon and myself spent 6 full days from 9:00 am until 7 or 8pm every night positioning and attaching each and every single one of those more than 2,100 Mexicans and all of the 186 brave Texan and Tejano defenders!!!

I look forward to viewing Tom’s fine work next time I get to Dallas but if any of you guys also get to San Antonio be sure to visit the ‘Briscoe’ and or take a trip up and view the more compact 24 square foot ‘Alamo’ at our new ‘King & Country Texas’ store at 5945 Broadway in the beautiful (and aptly-named) Alamo Heights neighbourhood just 10 minutes from downtown San Antonio.

All the best and thanks once more Mike for the heads-up!
Andy.

Andy...you're being too modest...you didn't even mention your awesome Battle of San Jacinto display in Galveston's Bryan Museum...
it's a work of art in itself...I live in Galveston and was lucky that Andy invited down to watch him and Chris Munroe assemble this beautiful creation...every time I go there...my first stop is Andy's display...
