Hey guys, was wondering how many of you are getting the dodge cw63 truck?

I will hopefully be getting it soon, but I am not sure what to do about the passenger thing. There are 2 sets of passengers, but the back of the truck looks like it could sit 6 on each side? I hate to waste the space, and I also do not like that I will not be able to use the cannopy if I am sitting figures in the back, so I was wondering what others are doing about this?

Is there anyone else who is bothered about it, or is it just me lol?

I just hate when a vehicle or figures look 'un-neat' if you know what I mean?:redface2:^&confuse^&grin

I have the original Jimmy truck with single sitter, and the set of 4 that go with it sitting in the back with the 3 bob figures with the german captured tanker, so there are four figures on each side. I have the bob halftrack with canopy over it so it does look sort of what I believe is 'neatish'!^&grin

I have considered putting fuel drums, jerry cans and buckets in the cw63 truck to make up for the space but I will need to see once I have the sets infront of me! ^&grin

Who knows? Andy may bring out another two sets of american seated figures to join the already released sets, but I doubt it!^&confuse:p

Just noticed the description of the truck on treefrog :

King & Country

Another classic U.S. Army truck of WW2. This model comes with driver and fully detachable “canvas” roof. Seated figures or supplies can be fitted into the rear of the truck. This classic armoured troop transport served U.S. Forces and their Allies loyally throughout the War and even into the late 1970’s (with the Israeli Army). This GI version comes complete with a driver and a standing .50 calibre machine gunner and his crew-served weapon. This winter-version also has a detachable canvass cover for the troop compartment. A towing hook at the rear of his vehicle is also suitable for pulling.
$149.00

Does the truck come witrh a machine gunner? I can't find any pics? or is this a typo? :redface2:

I have the WC63. No gunner there, for sure! As for the Bulge seaters there are actually 3 sets: BBA036, BBA040 and the new BBA049. All together they are 9 soldiers, one a german wounded prisoner, and just BBA040 has all 3 stuck in one piece. The 2 first sets go fine with it (I have them in mine) and I think that with the new one it will almost fill the WC63...

What I would do is the following . I would place my men on one side of the truck and just one or two on the other side . The rest of the space I would fill up with cargo . Easy to make : You use a few small blocks of balsa wood or polystyrene so simulate cargo which you cover up with a canvas. You can make the canvas out of a paper handkerchief drenched with a mixture of white glue and water . When completely dry you can paint it in khaki or olive drap.In doing so, you do not have to waste any oil drums or crates you have in 1:30scale

Guy...

The modelling tips coming out. I used the tissue paper and glue with small strips of white plastic card to make the camo netting the allies used. Great idea I also now use rolled out thin milliput or similar to cover equipment
