Hey Guys

I got my French House and Courtyard yesterday from Shannon (thank you and all the other Treefroggers) - WOW !! :eek:

Those boxes are BIG ! and the dio's are BIG TOO !! :eek:

It all kinda took me by surprize - I can only fit the Farmhouse right now in my Napoleonic Curio Cabinet at Home. Great works of art though - Andy did a great job with them.

Thats' why I do some advance intel missions and ask folks on the forum here for some measurements :D

My heart sank when I found out those sets were retiring- I plan on grabbing two of each here in the near future- they still seem to be pretty plentiful.

I cannot recall actually seeing them in real life though.

Yeah Ron,
I had intended obtaining these two pieces in October. It now seems unlikely that they'll be available direct from K&C, I just wonder if I can get them elsewhere in Hong Kong - Universal Models in Nathan Road perhaps?

I'm taking two practically empty suitcases to Dubai with me today so's I have plenty of room for the other goodies I intend to purchase in HK at the end of October.

You should talk with Shannon about getting these and see what the overseas delivery costs would be ? Maybe it would even be cheaper to buy from Shannon and ship them to England to your Dad's (?) house have them there waiting for you. These are great pieces and after seeing your collection - it would be a nice addition to your stuff.

The overseas shipping costs have never bothered me all that much Ron - its the Customs duty that kills overseas orders. I sent my daughter an MP3 player for her birthday 2 years ago. UK Customs duty cost half as much again as the player itself - never again, its strictly cash in future.
Wonder if K&C UK have any left? I shall inquire.
PS. My parents live in Scotland. That's the miserably cold bit that's stuck on above England. Shall let you off this time due to your kind comments regarding our collection - but don't let it happen again......LOL. :D:D:eek::eek::)

The very same land that's just beat Lithuania 3-1 AND France (Current Holders of The World Cup) 1-0 in Paris WITH A DREAM GOAL and are now sitting proudly on top of their qualifying group for the Soccer European Championships which are to be held next year in Switzerland and Austria. Must remember to book some holidays.

I'm missing something here........THE FARM HOUSE AND GATE ARE RETIRING?????????????????:eek: I have mine...BUT...they are excellent pieces!!!!!!!!...just noticed it at the bottom of Andys web page...I remember when the French Farm house set and KGL came out not too long ago...THEY WERE AND STILL ARE WORKS OF ART......GLAD I HAVE THEM!!!!!!1

Had the dubious pleasure of standing in a long queue of Jocks (complete with kilts, tatoos, funny headwear with peacock(?) feathers and very large smiles) through 'Luton Airport' - 'tis rare to see a smiling Scotsman (in England).;)

This was the day after France 0 - Scotland 1. I asked if this was the Luton branch of the Tartan Army?

'Nay laddee, its cheaper to fly via Luton than direct from Edinburgh' - 'plus ca change, c'est le meme chose'.

Glad you had some fun with the Tartan Army. They really are a sight for sore eyes at times but we love the image we have throughout Europe and the wider world.
Even in China, when I tell people I come from Scotland I get the entire Braveheart, Rob Roy McGregor, wearing "skirts", playing bagpipes, red-hair, etc. stuff, and its ALWAYS done with a smile - which is nice.

Actually, its the same here in Germany where I'm stuck at present. Travelling to Lithuania tomorrow though. Hope they're not too sore about the 3-1 drubbing we gave them last week.....:eek:
