Actually you said "during the later part of the war, it’s unlikely German herr had the decal on both sides of the helmet" an opinion I totally agree with as you can tell by my post :wink2:

Gebhard, you have been extremely helpful on this matter and I thank you so much for your extended posts. Although I've been learning a lot recently I'm still not as well-versed in the small uniform details of WWII soldiers as I am American Civil War soldiers. So please keep bringing on the great knowledge my friend...
