Shot in Tamworth, the song and video tell the story of the Charge at Beersheba by the 4th & 12th Australian Light Horse regiments during WW1. This action is credited as being the last successful cavalry style charge using horses. The film footage used during the clip is used under license from the Australian National Film and Sound Archive and was taken from the 1940 Australian film Forty Thousand Horsemen.

Not a country and western fan but i like this, great song...............:)

Great song. One of my favourite films is The Lighthorsemen, wish they would release 40000 horsemen on DVD.

Wayne mate,
Good one cobber. The spirit of Australia. "The Mightly Lighthorse".
Great song to enjoy a beer or three with mates.
Cheers Howard

Good link Wayne,
Good video shows the vehicles since used by the Lighthorse and good "morph" from the Tamworth statue into real horse. One part shows the words "Taking a knife into a gun fight".
Surprised production date was 2009 and never heard of it before.
Regards
Brett

Great song, really creative. I really liked the reference to The Nek at Gallipoli. Well done. -- Al
