I started assembling 3D printed belgian gates in 1/30 scale . Once finished they will be part of a Normandy landing scene .
They were called Belgian Gates because in 1940 Belgium ordered 77.000 of them to make a armoured vehicle barrier of 240 km.
Once interlocked and rivited together they could not be moved, not even by a tank . Each gate had a weight of 1.3 tons
Unfortunately by May 1940 not all of the gates were in place and the Germans pushed through the gaps.
Later during the war the Germans took most of the gates to Normandy to be used as beach defences
