I really don't know what this comment means means. Can you please explain.
Lot more with leftest sympathies in this country than I realized.

Well, if it was published in 1976, yeah, I can kind of see how that conclusion could be reached, in fact, the entire book was probably geared towards coming to that conclusion- sort of like watching a Friday the 13th movie where Jason is chasing some poor teenage girl through the dark woods and she falls and he hacks her to pieces- yeah, didn't see that coming!!! {sm4}The 1976 Book of Lists cited Richard Nixon as #1 among "the most hated men of all time." However, Hitler beat him out for "the most evil man of all time." That's really saying something when we consider that the same century hosted such guardians of the downtrodden as Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong and Pol Pot. Hell of a body-count, those three. The findings were based on data compiled by the New York Times. Shows what becomes of fellas who get on the wrong side of the progressive media.

Bit of a misplaced historical metaphor but I get your point.
A free press, however, is the cornerstone of a free society and it's the job of the press to keep those in power on their toes. If there's not friction between the two, then the press is not doing its job.
What's your definition of Leftist sympathy? I am curious.
