I found this broken Bergpanther in a little shop in Oban Scotland when I was there at Christmas. It looks like it had been dropped and landed on the shovel and one of its supports had snapped and it had come away. Fortunately the crane was undamaged and, had all the pulley's and chains with it (but, no crew) so, I bought it for £55.
It was originally a summer variant but, I like winter and decided to repaint it. I also decided to remove the cabin and the winch inside to give it some better detail painting and, with the hatch off I would not risk breaking the crane. all tow ropes have been removed and the interior cab has been repainted instead of the plain white it was
The actual tank has been given a first coat of white and some stripped down and a little shading and weathering done. I will add some more wash and then start again until I am happy with the effect. The winch engine and Shovel have been rusted and weathered with acrylics and, will be winter weathered when it is applied. I have to add a metal support on the side broken but, that's easy enough and, when its back in place I will add some putty from a syringe to add strength and, look like mud as was on the manufactured model.
So, plenty of work to do but, I thought I would post a few pics and then follow up until its finished and it may be of interest to some
