Bernard has requested a 13Pdr gun from Fusilier Miniatures to make up a Gun in action set, Bernard already has the crew, so here we have just the gun to paint.

For those of you who followed my first how-to thread of Brad's RHA team, this is the same set of castings, and as usual no problems assembley wise with very little cleaning up to do.

Castings, assembled and undercoated and carriage in the deep bronze green as any self-respecting artillery piece should be in :p

Cool!
Does it actually fire the cocktail sticks via the elastic band?
Reminds me of the old Britains Deetail, Corgi and Dinky arty pieces. ;)

LOL..........no not really

:D:D:D

Jeff

Btw, do you like the colour?

The toothpicks and rubber band are curious, Jeff, were they to immobilize parts while assembling, or to provide a handle while painting?

How are Fusilier's castings, generally? They own the Hussar line, which includes some figures I'd like to order, and I'd like to hear from someone who has worked with their castings already.

Prost!
Brad

Jeff,
I'm buckled up for this ride! I didn't know Bernard was into "action" stuff. I thought he was only into that hotsie-totsie Drill & Ceremony Hussar stuff:eek:

Brad, neither actually, I hold the wheels while I am painting the carriage and these just keep the painted areas up in the air whilst drying afterwards. Once dry I will then paint the wheels.

I like Fusilier Miniatures and have painted a number of sets all with good results. I haven't seen any of their Hussar range but I assume they may be of the same quality.

LOL :D........ He has a "Tank" as well!

Cheers.

You know Jeff, that arty piece would be really enhanced, if you were to mount it on one of those bases. Bernard would love it! ;)

Yo Jeff, still here mate lol, went AWOL in the cold spell, think I suffer from that winter problem forget the name of it, just cannot get wound up about anything. Which is really rich when you think I worked outdoors all my life, and some nights working right through at minus 12 degrees doing all the gas escapes. Like the cannon mate should look good with the RHA team:D
Bernard.

Yo Simon, slowly getting converted to plates, only slowly mind you. The only thing that should be on plates is fish & chips, boy do I miss the UK for the chippies, they are total crap in Ireland:mad::eek:

Been watching the "Thin Blue Line" have we Mike (hotsie-totsie) lol, will have you know I have five cannons and Two Tanks, and a Light Brigade Charge, but still like the Drill & Ceremony stuff better.;)
Bernard.

You will be happy when we get Bernard on to the yeomanry, Jeff. GREEN hussars, lancers and dragoons and even a green artillery section. It's only a question of time.

Alan, Bernard has been very quiet of late and that's a little worrying, some planning in the making perhaps?

Jeff

The carriage has dried so the wheels got the same treatment. The recuperator and cradle will have their turn next.

The recuperator and cradle have had a touch of paint and also the white coil of rope on the front of the gun shield.

Jeff

The wheel rims were painted in a gunmetal/iron sort of colour mixed from silver and black. Lastly the handle of the handspike was painted brown.

Allow a few days to dry and off they go to their new home.........now back to the Alma Guards
