I am thinking of having some more pieces commissioned (have to wait a bit to build the wallet back up {sm2}) and have to pick the figures. what do you feel are some of the best companies of unpainted figures?

I must say that for most metal kits, Pegaso and Romeo are hard to beat. Andrea castings are inconsistent. Art girona, Metal modeles are other good producers.

I just looked on the metal modeles website. Whoever is doing their painting does a great job (not that many others aren't great, I had just never seen this site before)

Excellent demonstration. When they are side by side the differences become clear. But if it was one figure by itself it would not be so easy. I think it would take an experienced eye to judge one on it's own. I doubt I could do it and suspect that many collectors would be unable to as well. That may be what causes the debate on price vsvalue between different manufacturers. Some can see the difference and some can't
