Best K&C series? (1 Viewer)

Thats a very good point actually.I couldn't possibly afford all the ranges but sure do enjoy looking at them all at shows etc.

for me the best range is the saracens and the crusaders... the detail and sculpting is mind blowing but having said that they were overshaddowed on saturday by K&C UK's charge of the light brigade words just don't describe how excellent they are and can't wait for june's show in london when i shall be purchasing the full set....

Welcome on board Kurt,

The highest quality of sculpting is broadly spread across a number of recent releases in a number of different series. You can't go wrong with pretty much anything released over the past 2 or 3 years, although some of the action-type poses in the WWII ranges necessitate corresponding facial expressions to convey the drama, and thus some of these are more successful than others.

However, to speak of a specific series I'd say that the Cross & Crescent, the Streets of Old Hong Kong or the Imperial China would probably offer the best combination of high quality sculpting and excellent standards of painting.

Always collect what you like. Napoleonics or WWII or the Alamo are not political parties, and you don't need to swear undying allegiance to any particular range.
I would have to agree on the Napoleonics with ARW being a close second.
"HOWSOMEEVER!!!"Wait 'til you see the new forthcoming American Civil War!

Just saw the crusaders and saracens at a dealer: it surely would be a good choice for best K&C series. The detail, painting, general quality are the best! Probably that´s the reason for being more expensive than other series. I am not into this period, though.

I have to say that every KC line looks great and what is "best" is probably in eye of the beholder. At first, I thought the Alamo line was going to be a disappointment - really hated the facade - but I recently saw the entire set of figures and it looks great. Even though I do not collect the Crusaders or Egyptians they are among the most striking lines. WWI looks like it is going to be great too. There may be a bit of KC cheerleading here, but you really have to give Andy his due for results.

Hands down, I think the Chinese figures- the emperor's figures and that line. The one dealer I used to go to, he had a huge display with them coming out from a palace- it was very impressive.

While I love the WW2 and SF/ Modern era, the sculpts are great but I don't think they require the painting effort like the Naps and Chinese figs do. I am not a fan of anything Napoleon but I do recognize the effort they have put forth with those figures.

In fact, that line has almost, ALMOST, inspired me to read a book or two on the time period.

My personal favorite is the Battle of the Bulge sets. Well sculpted, very well posed. They look like cold, hungry soldiers. Some of Andy's best effort IMHO

I really love them all from King and Country !

I dont collect all the ranges either - but, each one shows the great craftmanship of K&C. It seems ever new figures gets better and better. :D

I agree that the SOHK and the Imperial ranges have the best painted figures, my wife has a dozen or so sets of them, they are truly amazing!

Have to agree with Chris and Jeff. SOHK detail is really amazing. I was blown away the first time I saw them.

Hi Guy's
For me I find certain sets or individual figures that I have been working with as a result of K&C or Show work I become very attached to; a good example is NA09 he has real attitude.....also the Beach Master figure!
I also love the very first Arnhem sets as I associate a lot of 'life' at that time with them........the first K&C ad was with these guy's. However my 'general' favorites are SOHK because of living in HK and my interest in local history you can again really live the figures and sets.
Looking at this post I suppose there is wide range I like but for all sorts of reasons.
Regards
Bob
