hi,

New to this site, excellent to see a forum dedicated to Britains gear.
I recently did an audit of my aging dad's Britains Solider collection. He is at the point where he realises he can't hang onto it anymore. As much as I'd love to keep it myself I simply do not have the room.
So trying to work out the best place to list this collection for sale, between 100 and 150 lots in all, many limited editions mint in boxes, some WW2 etc (We are in Australia).
Should I sell them as 1 lot or individually?
Where would we get best exposure? Auction house like noble.com.au? ebay? etc
Appreciate your collective wisdom here.

Cheers.
Dave

I would ask your dad to help you at first, to make sure you've got the right figures in the right box and to get some sense of their value. Are the figures matt finish or glossy? Are they very old or have they been made in the last ten years? What time period are the soldiers representing? Do a little research and see what simular figures have sold for recently. Damage such as chipped paint or broken bayonets can affect the value. I would then take good photographs with a digital camera and sell the figures a little bit at a time on ebay.

Perhaps talk to Brett, Military Workshop, on this forum, sure he would have some good advice being local. Robin.
