A great story, Ivanmoe ... but I think I can up that by a point or two.
The town of Waldoboro is no longer as rural as it was when I moved here 30 years ago. However, North Waldoboro is still rather in the boonies!
The Navy stationed me at a contractor in Wiscasset, Maine. I had 12 - 14 engineers that I managed.
One morning I received a call from my 3D Graphics Designer, who lived in North Waldoboro, saying he couldn't make it into work that day.
Not a big issue but I had to ask the reason.
He replied ... "At the moment there are TWO RATHER LARGE MOUNTAIN LION'S sitting in the front seat on my truck ....{eek3} ... and a third cub in the bed of the truck. I don't think they would take to kindly me climbing into the cab and drivin' to work."
He followed up with ... "The game wardens are here, but they are not sure how to get them out, without injuring the LIONS or getting eaten for breakfast."
Eventually, state Animal Control officers used sleeping darts to calm mom and dad, while they caught the little one ... who mostly wanted to play.
They then transported them much further north so all ended well for all parties.
