I must agree Dickbuttons I have the soundtrack to gettysburg on my ipod and must say that is a beautiful moment! Along with armistead leading the way and then being shot!

Everyone has mentioned great scenes. Here are a few that I like that have not be mentioned as of yet.

1. The final charge in the Lighthorsemen as the Turkish Commanders keeps
shouting out the distance of the charge, very intense, you sense the
panic in the soldiers as the charge gets closer and closer.
2. The last battle scene in March or Die, when the Bedouin charge the dig
site.

The last battle scene in Glory really moved me.Plus battle scenes in Gettysburg,Last of the Mohicans,Lord of the Rings,SPR,Gladitor,really too many to rate the best.

I also think in flags of our fathers the scene in the night were the japanese capture iggy and torture him and then kill him is pretty intense with rather intense music.

I'll go for the German counterattack on Arnhem bridge in A Bridge too Far.

Windtalkers has some pretty cool battle scenes in it too although it isn't a wildly popular film.
Also Pearl Harbor - the 45 minutes of the actual attack is amazing, the rest is a bit dull except Kate Beckinsale of course.

Have to agree about windtalkers the actual battle sequence on the island had a panoramic view of the battle that I haven't seen in other films , it was pretty cool ..shame about the rest of the film ..it was only so-so
