Rainy day once again here (4 days straight now) . . . . . Going through my Grandfather's WWI photos he took while in France. He was in Company F, 17th RR Engineering Battalion. At one point during the war I know his company was stationed at Base Hospital #8 in Satenay, France building temporary barracks/wards for the sick and wounded. This is where this photo may have been taken. My grandfather identified the person in this photo as Ed Hennsel (from Grove City, Ohio), a member of his unit. I post this because of the Model-T Ambulance in the photo and its similarity to JJD's BGC-04 "US Ford Model T Ambulance 1918". Hadn't thought about getting this ambulance for my collection, but perhaps now I might . . . . .

Good picture. Gives one a real good sense of the small size of these vehicles. -- Al

Wonder if John will make Americans. Maybe a Hemingway figure with a Red Cross ambulance could be a possibility.

Correction: Hand writting on old pics are hard to read . . . . Grandfatehr was once stationed HQ'd at SAVENAY, France (not Satenay) where AEF Hospital #8 was located. This makes alot more sense. SAVENAY is in western France near Saint Nazaire and SATENAY is in far Easten France. I also have alot of photos of St Nazaire that he took. I wish he had ID'd more photos so I could identify all the places he was at in France during the war.
