So the time has comeor me and the Fiance to buy a house. We have been together for just over a yeah and a half and got engaged in June. This year I have been steadily selling off my collection in order to build some savings toward the house.

I still have a large collection of Operation Market Garden British and German sets, Dday sets, Waffen SS and Arnhem' 44 sets.

I have a plan to have a diorama room in one of the spare bedrooms (we are looking at a three bedroom house) which will be dedicated to my collection. It will have a large U shaped diorama going right round the whole room of British Airborne forces in Arnhem/Oosterbeek/ Wolfheze.

I also have a large Omaha beach diorama which shall be moved into the loft of whichever house we get.

I look forward to setting my rooms up and will post photos of the build!

Wish me luck!

Scott

I have been planning how I intend my room to look and I thought I'd share some of my ideas:

Photocopied original images of the battles of Arnhem, Oosterbeek and Wolfheze displayed on the walls in a box of A4 and A3 and perhaps laminated.

Perhaps some original British Airborne related items mounted on the walls.

I plan for my diorama to be a rolling diorama in a U shape starting from the right hand side of the room on the wall which the door is located on and have:

1. A large area representing the Bridge area and Lt. Colonel John Frost's 2 Para and other units trying to hold the position against attacks from Grabers's Forces on the bridge as well as attacks from the rear in Arnhem Town.

2. An area representing St Elisabeth's Hospital and British and German forces arriving at the hospital. Wounded being evacuated and fresh patients coming in!

3. A large area representing the outskirts of Oosterbeek and the surrender of a British held position to German troops after a large firefight.

4. An area representing the Hartenstein Hotel in Oosterbeek including the tennis courts where a temporary cease fire has been arranged and wounded British troops and German prisoners are being evacuated to the rear of the German lines.

5. Oosterbeek area including a scene of the Kussin ambush, Baskeyfield's last stand against Stug IIIs and SPGs.

6. A very large area representing the Landing Zones and Drop Zones at Wolfheze with a Horse Glider, Hamilcar Glider and crashed Horsa Glider. With Paratroopers landing and a busy LZ/DZ with airborne troops preparing to move off towards their objectives.
