Black Hawk at the Westcoaster (1 Viewer)

Black Hawk remains somewhat of a mystery to me. At last year's show Matt from Hobby Bunker had some of Black Hawk's newly released Romans at the time, and I thought they were pretty nice but there were some issues. I needed to see more. This year Matt brought some of Black Hawk Crusaders, and being that I collect K & C's Cross and Crescent range, I was intrigued by the prospect. And the Black Hawk Crusaders Saracens are indeed very nice, but, as advertised ("true 54mm"), they are a different scale than K & C, and this is so even considering that K & C's MK range is a smaller scale that all of their (K & C's) other active ranges, again as advertised as to fit in w/ existing figures from other manufacturers collectors may already have. I think what hurts Black Hawk are two things: A) Price: they are asking the same price per figure as the "big boys". This does not work well in their favor to entice one to their product. B) The company seems so distant to me. They do not instill confidence in this buyer by their lack of presence. That being said, the figures are indeed very nice, with fine sculpting, original poses, w/ very good painting. They do a great job of capturing dramatic movement in their figures. All poses appear very natural and the fighting figures really display nicley especially when grouped together. I hope you enjoy a few pics I took in Ted of Tedtoy's room:

Blackhawk is a division of Andrea Miniatures From Spain- and is probably not the Companies main effort. I carry them and find that the Rome and the LAH are the biggest movers- with a onesy-twosey at a time interest in the Custer range(my personal Favourite).

Nice figures- and they are a smaller than what is standard out there.

The ranges are designed to be displayed in a group- which is nice.

There are fans out there- as can be proven of the sets that have been sold out, and there was a packaging issue which is promised to be rectified when and if there are releases or new releases.....shameless plug- I have them!
