New to the forum. I collect the new line K&C Redmen and Redcoats. Creating dioramas depicting the Rev War on the New York frontier along the Mohawk River Valley. I find that the JJD woodland indians fit in very nicely with the K&C redcoats, etc. Just got two JJD blockhouses and both sets of civilains - very nicely done and fit well with Rev War theme. I agree with previous post - door of blockhouse seems a bit short and narrow for 60 mm.

The British and Colonial use of woodland indians during the war is very interesting to study. The Mohawk and Hudson RIver valleys were hotly contested and the scene of many battles involving the use of indians, militia and rangers. Blockhouses and stokaded homes were still very much in use.

Look up Cherry Valley massacre 1778, Sir John Johnsons raid in October 1780for an intersting read. Also Brant's Volunteers, Butler's Rangers, 1st New York, King's 8th Regmt of foot, etc.

Welcome and nice to see another Wisconsin resident on the forum. 2 block houses no less, very exciting for you. Do you ever make it to the Toy Soldier Shoppe in Milwaukee? I am only an hour or so from there so find myself there often, i.e. whenever I can scrape together more than 50 bucks that is not yet accounted for. They carry all of the K&C and JJD items and it is fun to see them all displayed together (and even more fun to buy some of them). Again, welcome!

I certainly will do.
And a BIG thanks to all who have sparked off an interest in what was previously a completely unknown conflict.

Thanks for the warn welcome Dave. I don't get to Milwaukee too often. Usually shop the Toy Soldier Shoppe from on line. Here's a pic a quick set up I did on the dining room table with one of the Blockhouses I got today.
