Compare the paint scheme on the BM-03 officers with that on the officer in BM-11 (King's Colors). Red trousers (BM-03); off-white special issue on the BM-11 (special order by Braddock of lighter weight trousers because of North America's summer heat). Club figure of Lt. Dubar - off-white trousers. The horsed Braddock is apparently into SNAZZY and is wearing blue trousers.

From what we know, it would appear that the paint scheme on the BM-11 is correct, while that on the BM-03 may be in error. So why pay so much more for a set that may be in the wrong color trousers? I just do not understand ;););). Now if those trousers were off-white, I would already be bidding on the BM-03, but will pass for now.

Officers on campaign can be given some leeway on what they chose to wear, in this case red pants of the regulation uniform or the campaign canvas pants issued to the rank and file troops.

Maybe the bigger error with set BM-03 is the officers braid or tape on the coat and hats is painted gold. The 44th should be silver for officers braid and buttons. JJ corrected this in set BM-11 trimming the officers coat and hat with silver.

It's a little thing, but it was those kind of details which helped distinguish one regiment from another.

Do any of you know what's the highest price a Jenkins set (any set) has gone for?

I want to say that one of the early BM sets went for over $1,000 on eBay sometime last year. That was an exception though, as a couple bidders (apparently with a lot of disposable income!) got into a war.

Found it!

2011/08/22 - BM-01 - $1,045
2011/08/22 - BM-06 - $1,000

Those are the highest I'm aware of currently.

My only beef with BM-03 is that the flag bearer constantly falls over. The flag was too heavy to stand upright. I finally balanced mine against the end of the shelf, but occasionally find him laying down on the job.
