Time to name a favorite from 2010:
I'm going with Colonel Roosevelt by Edmund Morris. Last of a trilogy on Teddy Roosevelt picking up at the end of his presidency covering his expeditions in Africa and South America, overseas tours, third party run for President in 1912, political battles with Taft and Wilson, WWI, the death of his son as a fighter pilot in France and his death at age 60 in 1918 just prior to the 1920 election which he might have won. Very readable and well-researched even if you haven't read the two previous volumes.
