Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (3 Viewers)

I,ve been bored enough this week to build myself another foam building and throw together a small diorama!
Mike(Modwalls) gave me 5 unfinnished 12inx4in pink foam walls with his new smaller brick pattern he makes on his home made jig and I was able to cut and glue these smaller sections together and glue these to some other foam pieces he gave me and I carved some stones into the base of the building added some doors and windows and made a roof from foam story project board they sell for kids to do there school projects on and broke up some popsicle sticks and glued them to it and came out with a pretty nice roof.

I,ve got to get Mike to make me more of these brick sheets so I can make myself a couple of hougomont buildings! This brick pattern hes come up with is awsome and paints up nice!!! GREAT WORK MIKE!!!

I took a few photos of the building process so I,ll post a thread with some before and after photos but I missed a few steps of the photos but it will give anyone wanting to give this a try a few good pointers for anyone who has never tried working with foam before.
Here are the pictures of the new building in a small diorama.

Really nice dio, thanks for posting and explaining about the walls. They do look good. When you say mike makes them on a jig, can you explain more?

Thanks again for posting:D

I think Mike would be the guy to ask more about this. He carves them into the foam by hand but he made a jig to do this on which lines up the foam and gives him his very uniform brick patterns.

Panda, I tried to explain it on another fourm, I will try my hand at a how to with pics. It gets very confusing when someone is talking at you with tech talk, and you don't know what the heck he's saying. I'll show the jigs I made, and try to explain how I do the bricks. Mike:)

The penny is starting to drop, I think I may remember now you have mentioned it - can anyone provide a link rather than you do it all again?

My money's on the pooch! Very life like Lt. Is this where we start another debate about scale?:p

Hope not Simon I'm having to much fun seeing all of the goodies posted and if need be I'll shrink The Little Captain to fit in although I'm afraid he might have something to say about it....The Lt.
