Bovington tank museum. (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody just got back off holiday(vacation) and visited the south of the UK(a rare thing) and managed to visit the Bovington Tank Museum
All i can say is its a tank spotters heaven with some rare and truly jaw dropping sites,the Tiger Tank,Su-76,Firefly,Panther the list goes on.
I have managed to take as many photos as a wife and 2 kids permit,i will say it deinatley worth a vist but try and get there early to avoid people spoiling your photos

Sorry forgot to post the images with the post so heres some for now,i wont label each image because most of you will know what they are anyway?
The images vary because they are taken on a Panasonic lumix Fz38 and a Sony w995,because somebody only packed a 1gb memory card

What a terrific way to spend a day for an armour enthusiast. Thanks for the pics, looking forward to more. They have quite a collection there at Bovington, I'm going to have to get there one day to check it out. I wonder if the paint and camo on those tanks is historically accurate?

Best thing is they have both version of the king tiger at Bovington but my favourite is the British Tortoise Superheavy tank

Jagdtiger,this thing is so big ,even with the wide angle of full on the Panasonic, i couldn't fit it,what a BEAST

Yo Trooper, great photos mate, now thats a Blast from the Past. The Tank Museum used to be in the middle of the Junior Leaders Regiment camp in the 1960s, they have moved now. Here is an old photo of me (on left) and a friend Jeff Strong outside the Museum as young 16 years olds, behind is a WW1 Tank which tey used to keep outside, think they are all indoors these days. Just think I was priveledge to get in every Tank in the Museum they had up to 1960, They used to have the German Tanks lined up opposite the British & American Tanks, and I used to think how the hell did we beat them, the German Armour looks awesome. Happy Days
