Many thanks for the varied and constructive suggestions, they were as useful as I'd anticipated.
Pink, maroon and purple DPM is an option, I could also hide it in the fruit salad using this method, so I will consider this.
Having Jeff paint it green and displaying it in the back garden isn't going to be viable, as I can see an horrendous meeting of lawnmower and resin, which would bring tears to my eyes. Besides, I think Jeff has run out of green.
Shipping out to an alternate address for safe housing along with associated visitation rights sounds like a legal headache, but thankyou for the kind offers.
Conversion in to a tea making device may necessitate the replacement of the boiler unit and resculting of the funnel in to a spout. I feel this may take away from the aesthetic beauty of the piece, but it's nice to see some 'outside of the box' thinking.
Finding a new wife? I fear this may prove costly, to the tune of many multiples of BR-52s, and whilst I have obviously got the likes of Megan Fox, Cheryl Cole / Tweedy and Kylie M queing up to walk down the aisle with me (well, lets face it, they'd be mad not to), it might prove to be a case of better the devil you know. After all, she has so far tollerated (just) an expanding collection.
The tunnel idea may prove interesting. Might somewhat hinder the 'displaying' of said piece, but perhaps I could just inch the BR-52 out of the tunnel, a little at a time, over a period of months. This would of course necessitate the doubling of display space, but.......
Or, a variation on a theme, build Remagan Bridge in 1/30 scale. The train would then be lost in the overall enormity of the piece. This may however invoke a forced version of Brad's suggestion.
Re the working / not working train idea, I have tried to explain this to work colleagues when asked why I've just spent £400 on a train that doesn't move. I did point out that the buffers could be pushed in and out, but that didn't seem to convince them.
I'll keep in mind your suggestions and if it doesn't work, will keep you abreast of the divorce proceedings. Think I might have a similar problem tying to explain a 5 foot Pegasus Bridge, but that's a problem for later......
Nice choo choo set Louis!![Cool  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
