Braitains "Guards in Overcoats" (as per set 312) recasts (1 Viewer)

Not in the UK, though that info is here somewhere in the forum. johnnybach might know of a vendor.

Here in the States, Ron Ruddell's London Bridge Collector's Toys is a licensed Britains dealer and supplier of solid castings. His website is http://www.londonbridgetoys.com/index.html If nothing else, you might contact Ron. But I recall someone discussing here in the forum a current vendor of Britains castings in the UK.

Prost!

You might give Giles Brown of Dorset Soldiers a try - though I'm uncertain whether he does a straight re-cast of that particular figure - which I think features Slade Wallace gear over the greatcoat? I believe that set dates back to the year 1929 - so is pretty ancient - so he might possibly do some. Worth an e-mail - though leave it for a week or so - as I was chatting with him last week - and he may still be away for a short break.

I know that he does a marching figure of a Line Infantryman in a greatcoat - with no left arm - so you could graft on a bent arm with rifle at the slope - and a Guards Head - both of which he does - but not certain whether the figure has any webbing, ( I haven't made any up myself - yet!). If it does have webbing - you may be able to get very close to the look of set 312. If not - a bit of modelling with milliput on that figure could also get you close. jb

Thanks very much for your very helpful reply but for reasons which to many would seem daft I am after recasts of the original figures. I do know of a source in the UK but for some reason cannot get a reply to emails - very frustrating.

Thanks, John, I knew you would know!

No - not daft at all - sometimes only an original will do! :D Still give Giles a try - he sometimes has things that haven't appeared in the listings yet. Good luck - jb
