A bit of history about the figures.
Almost 25 years ago, I commissioned the late Erik Reinikka to sculpt original Alamo figures for me. Eric was a very talented sculptor who had his own line of F&I War Rangers and Indians under the Winsome Warriors line. Eric provided me with 25 different bodies and parts. The heads, arms and weapons were made to be interchangleable. Thus, each figure can be made into four or five variations allowing for nearly unlimited possibilities.
These figures were MADE TO MATCH MARX ALAMO FIGURES. That's right. The figure scale is a perfect match for the plastic Marx Alamo figures. At the time of the sculpting, Marx was the only option available. Conte was still years away, and so Eric made every figure to fit in with current Alamo dioramas. If you love your Marx figures then these are right up your alley.
Right now, the figures are only available as unpainted castings. This allows you the collector to paint the figures as you wish. You can choose the single color option and mix them in with your Marx figures or you can create your own painted army as you wish them to look.
Another advantage of these multi part castings is that many of the Texans can be used as Frontiersmen, 1812 Riflemen or Old West types.
The Mexicans are uniformed so that they will be right at home in the War of 1812 (both sides) and the Napolionic Wars. The Sombrero Mexicans can be placed in your Magnificent Seven set-ups or any of the SouthWest border towns.
What you see on the first page is only the beginning. There are many more bodies, heads arms and weapons to come.
It took me 25 years to get these figure produced but the wait was worth it. I hope you take a few minutes and check them out. Any questions can be directed to Rich at the American Toy Soldier site ot to me directly at NEVINSRIP@AOL.COM
