I don't buy many 54mm, mostly 24th foot and a mounted Cavalry
or two that catches my eye. Yesterday I received a recently released 4th
Lancers [BR36053], and it is wonderful. I thought I'd received
another of Britains Connoisseur Collection. Painting is worthy
of a Fine Art. A seventy dollar bargain to say the least. Bravo
and a standup ovation. I haven't found another manufacturer that
comes close. For a 54mm and price anyway. And believe me I
have sampled more than a few lines. No contest. None

Now I just have to wait for the Forward Gordon's Scots Grey Guidon Bearer
and Gordon Highlander to be released. Normally I'm patient, but
after the 4th Lancer yesterday I'm all fired up. Yes.

I also got the Zulu War Stretcher bearer set yesterday. Nice
addition to my 24th Foot display.

It's a fine looking figure indeed.

Have you seen the other Scots Grey figure due to be released December commissioned by Magpie?

Yes, indeed. I saw it on the WBritains Collectors Club page. It
is definately on my radar, but I haven't figured out how to order
it yet. I tried on the CC order system, but haven't heard back
yet.

Can I ask what you think of the connoisseur verses the regular production. I don't own any of the connoisseur figures to compare. Is there a big enough difference to warrant such a price increase?

I've said it before and I will say it again, You can not beat Wm Britain figure sets and accessories for the price point considering the historical accuracy and the over all eye appeal of the final end product.

Well, I've either got all the connoisseur figures or they are on order.
Until I got this one I thought there was a enough of a difference. Now
I don't know. This one certainly has made me take another look. $70
instead of $250. That said, I really don't understand the idea behind
the connoisseur conotation. The sculpter? Who painted the proto-type?
Maybe better known names involved in the process warrents a higher
price.

Or it maybe that someone is tightening up quality control during the
manufacturing process. A benefit of having to regrouped after the
factory fires and subsequent delays. I have no idea, but a bargain
to me.
