You can add British Guards... no dead but in all fairness, CS is hardly alone in this gap. I would love to see some more for several lines, especially napoleonic but I guess according to Andy, these figures do not sell very well.

Its a fine idea and could easily be incorporated into our " wounded " three figure sets.

Our Napoleonic sets have been the fastest too sell out ever, and certainly adding prone casualties would be most welcome by our customers I'm certain. I had no idea how popular they would be!:D

Thanks for the input and you should be seeing these additions show up soon enough.

Happy collecting,

Brian

I too wish there were more fallen figures available from all the big manufacturers and the American Civil War is the series that needs it the most. Perhaps the reason "dead" figures haven't sold well in the past is because only 1 or 2 got released. A single dead figure just doesn't look right in a diorama. I've always liked how Collector's Showcase releases 3 sets of 3 figures. Perhaps a 4th set of 3 wounded figures could be added in the future or even an entire batch of releases (9 figures) could be done. Also, I'd like to see these figures released without bases.

This subject regularly gets raised on the forums and I have continually read that's its too macabre a subject or that figures such as these don't sell etc etc ad infinitum.......

True: Collectors who shelf display their collection with lines of cavalry or massed infantry are perhaps not too keen on having prone figures displayed at the feet of their marching troops-but battle dioramists have been and continue to scream out for such figures-in fact sets of such figures-for years. With me being a very loud exponent for such sets.

To my knowledge Conte with their "ACW Crater" series have been the only manufacturer to produce full sets of dead and dying (and yes without bases which are entirely unnecessary for prone figures). Luckily I managed to get 3 sets of each way back when-But just you try and get a set now-unpopular? No way man!

Every era needs dozens of them if you are going to depict an authentic looking Waterloo/Gettysburg/The Bulge/Omaha/Ticonderoga/The Crusades etc. But where are they?
I along with other guys have reverted to making my own by converting metals and plastics (much easier carving up plastic) purely so they can be dotted around the dio-Maybe one day the rest of the manufacturers will wake-up and imitate the once giant Conte and issue such sets instead of the single figure spasmodically released almost as an afterthought with the endless plethora of firing/kneeling/marching/advancing and.......Yawn!......so on.

That is good news Brian since as Reb notes, the Napoleonic period very much needs its dead figures. If you put them into three packs I would just suggest that you offer packs with two dead (or even three) rather than just two wounded to one dead. Perhaps you could vary it so that one pack at two wounded and an one dead and another had two dead and one wounded. Of course individuals would be nice but if you stick with three packs the above suggestion would fit the need better.

So it shall be done!:)

I know some folk don't like them but i feel dead and wounded figs are essential, you surely for instance could not have a realistic Omaha beach scene without them.I see it as both realism and a reminder of the true cost of war.

Totally AGREE with Reb on this post !

I missed out on the Confederate Dead - Conte Set - and still looking ! :(

I guess I wasn't too much in a hurry to buy dead figures of my boys ;)

These Conte Dead Sets are perfect for dioramas and a must for a great looking display - as UK Reb has shown us time and time again! :D
