Pictures of some of the dio comp entries, did miss a few, just didn't get a pic of all of them! Will leave who won what to others, some were displays and not entries. Enjoy.

It's magic to see so many efforts coming together in a single venue. Some really interesting dio's. Would hate to pick the best, a very difficult task. Well done all of you. Thanks Wayne for sharing, looks like a fun evening. Robin.

Thanks very much for sharing these photos Wayne. All impressive and many innovative ideas.

No idea of the Winners, but I'd have given top prize to the Cretan scene followed just so bang on with the ground work detail. Followed very closely by joint seconds of the FIW and Jesus scenes !

Whoever were the winners, a round of applause to all ! :salute::

Great work by all competitors on the night :)

Thanks so much for the pictures Wayne, it really shows us the talent that on display,

John

Just a quick post otherwise Andy might miss his next flight !
The competition this year was very competitive with many that could just as easily have won and good variety of subjects. Very tough to choose but I think it safe to say all attendees were very impressed with the entries and the great ideas and work in them.
Will sort images and post all with the results in next few days.
Thanks to all forum members who attended and also entered the competition.
Also thanks to Andy for coming down for his 10th visit.
More to come.

Many thanks to Brett & Gerelou & Military Workshop for an amazing 'long weekend', Friday, Saturday and Sunday where my feet did not seem to touch the ground!

It's sometimes all too easy to forget just how much effort goes into putting on and preparing for such a weekend like this PLUS the effort and time of ALL the participants who competed and displayed such an incredible selection of dioramas, large and small. This year's entries were simply superb!

A lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into making this Brisbane Event so very special and it's worth remembering how it came about...who started the ball rolling... and all of those who continue to help make it grow and develop...Let's ALL work together, in our own special and unique ways, to continue that incredible growth and development in the future...Together we stand...United we stand even taller!

All the very best guys and a great big THANKYOU!

Just wanted to thank all me Aussie mates for helping to make my 4th trip across the ditch so entertaining and memorable. As well as catching up with the usual suspects, it was also very cool to meet and chat to so many new collectors.

I’d also particularly like to express a big thank you to Brett & Gerelou for putting me up again and organizing everything. As I think most will agree it’s a full on fun weekend which takes a lot of commitment and effort by all involved for it to work.

As a visitor to your shores I can honestly say you couldn’t meet a nicer bunch of folks, who have always made me feel welcome and gone out of their way to make my trip enjoyable.

Also a special thanks to Andy for making himself available and sharing the weekend with us again. The man’s a legend and without him the hobby just wouldn’t be a patch on what it is today!

As for the dinner itself, I really like the venue and as for the diorama competition it was simply outstanding. I thought last year entries were brilliant, but this year was exceptional and I can honestly say I’d struggle to pick an overall winner as all the entries were so good.

Hats off to all those who had a crack, it’s all about participation and having fun. :salute::

Cheers Toddy

Thanks Steve, the 'Crete Surprise' entry was mine. It was a bit of a challenge getting it packed up and transported across the ditch, but me good buddy Mark IV helped with that by allowing me to borrow the Vickers tank and a few figures!:salute::

There is actually a couple of Brits/ANZACs hidden behind the facade ready to pouch, hence the surprise. I had to re-assemble the whole thing from scratch at the venue, which was a bit of fun as I had no idea how it would turn out.

The quality of the dio entries was exceptional this year and I felt privileged to be part of it.

Toddy...You scored a well-deserved 'Win' and it was great to share the weekend with you and the rest of the lads...and a couple of ladies too!
All the best,
Andy.
