Must say i am looking forward to the new 2006 britains release under new managemeant.
I am sure the new WW2 issue ( my area) will set new standards and hope that pricing will remain resonable.
Wish list is that we have bofors anti aircraft gun (my dad used to man them in the last war in Malta)

My pet hate will now end up having to buy another Mark iv with the new Stalingrad set -This mould has been well used......

Heard but do not know if this is true that last sets produced in 2005/early 2006 will not have a long shelf life before they are retired can anyone confirm or otherwise. Will be intrested to get some feedback.

Hi,

I have heard and Shannon can confirm it that the old stocks will be available for a few more days then Britains will not deliver any more of them to dealers and they will be removed from circulation and destroyed so if there is something from last year that you want you may have to break out the card and get it since they will be no longer available when dealers run out. Probably a very good idea for the company to do a house cleaning and start fresh.

A Bofors AA would be great, I have the early Britains version but it is more of a toy. Btw Tora I reckon your Dad would have been busy on Malta as the Germans certainly raided it often enough.

This applies mostly to the Civil and WWII lines. Many products from last year catalog are still available in this years. We will be checking the retired list and making sure our website reflects any new retirements this week.

I have a couple of Britains sets (maybe four) so I don't know much about how the company operates but will they really destroy existing stocks? I can understand not making more of a particular item but destroying seems odd to me. That should, I would think, drive up the price of the existing item.

I have a few Britain's WWII sets, and I've been tempted to destroy them :) I also have quite a few American Civil War Sets. I don't think Britain's has made a decent set of ACW figures since they first brought out their first matt figures back in the late 90's that Ken Osen sculpted. Every thing after that has been crap. IMHO
