Britains Catalogues - 1983-2008 (2 Viewers)

I also like the idea of posting earlier catalogues, pre-65, since they are so expensive otherwise.

Not being a vintage Britains person...what availability is there of pre-65Britains catalogues? Did they make one every year for a time?

They did make one almost every year, and many reproduction cataloques of various years are available both on Ebay and through various dealers. Several years ago, I was able to obtain reproduction catalogues for the 1938, 1954 and 1959 years. I have seen others years as well.

I forgot to mention -- the older Britains catalogues are in black and white and the pictures of the sets are small -- I have no idea how they would come out on your scaner. Also, the real old catalogues from the 1930's sometimes had, what appears to be, drawings of some sets rather than actual photos.

We have now added the link to these catalogues on our main Treefrog web site (so it's easier to find). I also added a link to ROAN's list of pre-1966 Britains.

Doesn't anyone have the 1997=1999 catalogues to lend you so they can eb scaned and added to the list?

1998, 1999, and 2007 have been added.

We still seem to need 1997, 1984, 1985. Does anyone know anything about these? I assume they exist.

It's getting even better -- thanks for posting all of these in one place. Terriffic resource!!

Hi Peter,

I know for a fact that a 1997 catalog exists because I have one currently sitting on my desk next to my computer as I type this.

I get it mailed out soon. I hope that the USPS doesn't do a number on it.

Chuck

P.S. That was a good year for Britains as far as I'm concerned.

New that year were the "Charge of the Light Brigade" set; Royal Navy Landing Party and the Premier Series WWI aces and VC Series.

A very good year indeed! :D

I just found the 1997 catalogue collecting dust on one of my shelves. Where do I send it. Russell

1997 is the only missing catalogue from the modern era -- have you sent it to Treefrog to be psted? If so many thanks in adance.

Dick

The 1997 Britains catalogue has reported for duty! Here it is.

Thank you to Russell for making it available for everyone.

So...does anyone know if Britains made a catalogue in 1984 or 1985?

If not, we are up to date! Between this and ROAN's listing, do we now have Britains covered?

Thanks for the 1997 (and all the others) catalogues. great site and tremendous resource.

Thanks to Peter & Shannon for posting these catalogues. It certainly is a great reference.

It seems to me though that something is missing. I was looking at the Circus pieces and some are not listed? Do any one know if they were all catalgoued?
I can't find the high school riders, the parade elephant, the baby elephant with clown, the unicyclist, there was a balancing act also.

I am unable to find the catalogue link starting at the homepage? I assume its in resources, but can't find it? I see the link at the begginning of the thread but how do I get there from the home page? Also, where is Geoff Duin, ROAN's, link?

Hugh

It isn't on the left hand side. It's in the white box under the picture of the Treefrog store right on the home page, just scroll down and you'll see the link in there. ROAN's link is there too just underneath.

:)

Scott

I'm hoping to update the main page and make those links more obvious, possibly with thumbnail pictures to click through or something. Watch for it!
