What happened to the new glossy line and buildings that Richard announced would be in the new catalog?
Yes, the FIW figures are glossy; and yes that is the Civil War painting being reproduced in toy soldier form.
Anyone know who the the mold maker was for the figures made for the painting??...Just might be putting my foot in a bucket here but these figures just look different to the usual Ken Osen style!..They even look different to the three running/charging clamshell figures shown..these DO look as if they come from the hand of Ken...Subtle differences in moulding-uniform details-Painting????......Anyone else spotted this or have i just been looking too deep in my Jack Daniels bottle????????????.
Steve
Here are a couple of images of the original sculpts I took here right after they wee finished. The first one is one of the clamshell figures and the second one is one of the mounted figures from the boxed set.
Hopefully you will like them when you see them finished!
All the Best,
Ken
These were photographed in Peosta by staff members using diffused light and this tends to 'wash out' the wrinkles and folds. I am sure that they will display well in the flesh though. I also know that Dave used a lighter gray than usual for the early war look and that also made them look a bit different.
Thanks so much for your comments!
Ken
Konrad,
Any hints at what this new range is going to be?
