I noted that a K&C collector asked where all his fellow K&C collectors were located. I thought it a great idea. So where are all of the Britains collectors? I live in Upstate New York. Anyone close?

Well as some of you know I am North of Romeo, MI and my wife is from Grosse Point MI. She was raised in Ontario CA and moved here in here teens. I spent many years in the Western suburban areas of Detroit before moving out and away from the hub-bub...and I really like it.
Ericka and I make several road trips per year to the NE and NY State every year for research and pleasure. I used to be a big model railroad fan and traveled the old Erie RR right of way taking pictures and measurements when I could. I suspect we may meet many of you in our travels to shows here and abroad in the future too...perhaps the upcoming Gettysburg show!
All the best, Ken

Yo Troopers, ok I will have some of this, from the UK of Irish family, served in the Tank Corp, Queens Own Hussars (The Cream ex 3rd Kings & 7th Hussars) sat in every Tank ever made from WW1 to 1960 (eat your heart out Damian) lol. Cannot forget H the Jock, Edward the 1st (Longshanks) said the only trouble with Scotland is, its full of Scots lol. Only joking H. Moved back to Ireland like John Wayne (Quiet Man) only thing is I am not that quiet. Really miffed with Britains, in 100 years they could still only manage to do half the famous British cavaly regiments, and when your collecting theme is cavalry, that means I have to get them made special ie; 4th Royal Irish Dragoons, at Balaklava, later became the 4th/7th DGs. They were a real let down Britains. But cannot have a go now because its USA owned, and they threw us out before we learnt them how to speak English lol. Tell you what though, there are that many K&C WW2 guys on this site, I have to put my Tin Helmet on, before logging in lol.
Bernard.

Welcome Dave, and glad to see a new name on the Britains thread. Being quite partial to Highland subjects am interested in your username if you don't mind.

As far as where I am from...currently south central Wisconsin...soon to be residing in Northfield, MN a lovely little college town not far from where my wife and I grew up and, of course home of the infamous Jesse James gang bank robbery gone awry as featured in the old film, "The Long Riders".

Dave, thanks for the information. I am very envious of your musical background. I am a former side (snare) drummer myself though in a drum & bugle corps capacity. I have had this late 30's year old desire to learn pipe band drumming technique and get involved with a decent regional pipe band for some time now. Nothing much more stirring to me musically than a pipe band coming down the road...I am sure you would agree. Might have to pick your brains a bit on the subject.

Hi Guys,

Well I am from Massachusetts originally but have long since moved from there and travelled around a bit with the military and like our pal Cardigan I have also sat in just about all the tanks The US has messed with and I have been in a T34 and several German Vehicles as well. My favorite vehicle was the M-1 Abrams(put a lot of miles in those beauties!) before the upgunning to 120mm but the M1A1 is a nice vehicle too. We are still on active duty so for us Home is where the Army sends us. My current home is Olympia Washington.

All the best

Dave

Good afternoon everyone.

I have spent most of my life in Central Illinois. Currently I live in a small town a little north of Springfield -- where Abraham Lincoln spent much of his life.

As I recall, our hosts Shannon and Pete spent some time north of here, not far from my home town. I grew up in Washington, IL, where I attended Lincoln Grade School, at the corner of Lincoln and Jackson streets. Perhaps because of this, I largely collect American Civil War and Revolutionary War items.

Hi Mister Dave
Drop me line any time.I enjoy talking about about Pipe Bands. They have been a hugh part of my life for 29 years.
Cheers

Yo Trooper Dave welcome, I just loved marching through the towns behind our Regimental band is was really a special day. But got to admit there is nothing like watching a Scottish pipe band on the march, man it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, they just look so superb. Just reminded me, when in Germany we where in the next block to the band, and every night after tea, this one Bandsman played William Tell on his Trumpet, man he was brilliant. By the way Trooper why the Dragoon badge ??.
Bernard.
