I really believe the current Britains Burgandy Boxes for WW2 items does not do justice to this great Brand. The current Look is a bit too flash and also dents easily. Hope the new order at Britains will look into this. Like to hear your opinions- maybe we could get some comments from Britains themselves they should be looking at forums like this if they really want to market to us.

Tora:

We are looking at packaging along with every thing else at Britains. The priority is as follows:

Sculpting - continue to improve the style, detail and historical accuracy
Painting - continue to improve the style and detail as well
New Sets - release some new periods/collections - WWI, History of British Army etc.

Once we get the above done and some of the new figures out we can then look at packaging - right now it is too early with too many other priorities to go at packaging just yet - we know it is important and that many would like to see changes. As an aside, we have inherited a significant amount of the burgundy boxes and will be using them up.

Keep the ideas coming and we'll keep reading and taking them into consideration. As far as W. Britain viewing sites like this, please have a look at some of the other W. Britain posts and you will see reponses from us. You are right - these are a great source of ideas and encouragement.

Be good,

Richard

Richard, in reading your list of priorities, I was wondering if a new W Britains website fits anywhere in there?

Hi Richard,
How about doing the history of the British Army in matte?

The grenadier, 1755 is great, however it would look better in matte.

Good luck.
Benjamin

Dear Richard
great to know you guys are out there, thanks for your promt reply. looking forward to some great new packaging in the future.

The website is coming as well - trying to make it as right as we can - so a bit slower than I had hoped. Will know better after Westcoaster a time frame and will update you all. Just packing up some brand new Fallschirmjaeger to take out west with me - wow.

Nice idea about 1755 Grenadier in matte....stay tuned....

Disagree about the 1755 Grenadier. He looks perfect in gloss. We traditionalists gotta have something to collect. Richard I was wondering why with the History Of The British Army series you decided to do single figures instead of sets?

Don't worry we'll keep doing them in gloss. Sets are in the works for later this year - got any favorites you'd like to see? Did singles to give folks a chance to start collecting or add to their existing gloss collections without having to lay out too much money.

Hi Richard,

I have to say I cant wait to see the soldier when he comes in from the club! I am also glad you went with some singles because its nice to be able to put a few individuals in the mix once in a while.

I also have a question, Will the Napoleonic Square you all did for the club continue to be available or is it going to be nixed because of the new company leadership? I ask because I have put off getting them for some other sets and want to get on them if they are going to go away this summer.

Dave thanks for sending me the pictures of those napoleonics I really enjoyed them and i would like to get my hands on some. Does anybody know were to pick up any of these without joining the club? And while we have the ears of the new owners of britains is there any chance that these will be released again and availble without joining the club?

Here is a picture for you guys who don,t know which figures we are talking about.

Richard,
Regarding what I'd like to see in the History of the British Army series -- how about the Black Watch? From Bushy Run to Basra, they've been just about everywhere. Also, matte or gloss really doesn't matter to me, as long as the series stays consistent.
