Britains Deetail WW2 Collection (1 Viewer)

Its no simple task to remove the tie downs, and remove ship from vice like

"Fly Paper" but with my trusty X-Acto I managed to complete the task with

no major mishaps!:D

Now if I can just remember where the rest of the fleet is!:D

Hi John,

What wonderful discoveries you made inside those boxes! Perhaps you should stay up all night more often. :D

While I love all the treasures you found, I expecially love those wonderful Neptun Waterline ships. They are a joy to see. Thanks for showing us some of your newly discovered treasures!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

always good to see old friends again,,1/1200 just fine,,went thru some of mine packed recently

You have to excuse the dust:D actually I didn't see it, though I should have

known it was there! The old Nikon will get you into trouble every time!

Heres some Brits, and some Civil War Figures!

Great stuff! I have the Civil War officer with a saber riding a white horse too, but mine rides a black horse. Deetail are my alltime favorite plastic figures!

Paulo:

I agree they were quite nice, and reasonable at the time. I can't believe I

have had these items over 35 years!

I can't be that old!:D

The triang display at vaughns in chicago made me nuts as a kid,,now having retro visions

Thanks for the pictures John. I still have plenty of Detail and Airfix figures. What I really like is your 1/1200 ship collection. Really nice models and wished I collected some. I bought plenty of 1/700 plastic ship models and sold some but only completed one destroyer, Some day maybe.:D John

Ha, I know what you mean! I don't even know where these came from! I

used to shop at Continental Hobbys In N.J. back in the 1970's it was run by

a German fellow. He was the person that first sold me the Neptun waterline

ships. I probably bought a few Tri-Ang there also.

Over the years I picked them up whenever I saw them. All the Neptun

came from shops in London, Munich, and Paris when we traveled there.

I must say I have built up quite a "Fleet" and only took 35 years to do

it!

John I must warn you, once you pick up a Neptun ship you will be hooked!

The detail is terrific! They are quite difficult to find, I believe a few people

sell them on the web but I have not purchased any that way.

I like to find a shop and spend hours pouring over their inventory selecting

just what interests me.

For my 50th Birthday we rented an apartment in Paris near the Trocadero.

In their gift shop they have a nice selection of Neptun ships. Every day I

went in for an hour or so and brought home a really nice fleet. Last year

my daughter vacationed there and brought me a small task force.:D

She told me there once impressive selection was winding down as often

happens.......perhaps it was a hint for me to take the wife back.:D
