Britains Displays & Dioramas (1 Viewer)

The grass is not a commercial product for the hobby industry, but a material that Ericka and I found in our travels. we color it and use the material on our shop built dioramas for customers if long grass is called for. We like the fact that the figures can be moved about and the 'grass' fibers will stand back up.

Ken,
Do you ever use Heki grass for your displays? Or are you strictly using the product you found. Off Subject: I have several Hudson and Allen acc. for models (tow chains etc.). I just wanted to say that it's great stuff.

Hi Brent!
Heki makes some great stuff...and yes, I use it along with several other model railroad related products. As you know the lion's share of these products are made for HO or 1/87th models. That is the reason we have been using the varied materials we have, along with the better commercial products. In 1/32 and larger you really have to simulate more shapes and textures than you do in the smaller scales to be realistic.
Thanks for the kind comments on the H&A stuff!

"Sandy Hook, NJ 1776"

On August 12, 1776 the 1st Regiment of Foot arrived in America to bolster British forces trying to put down the rebellion of the colonies. The ships carrying these troops landed at the harbor of Sandy Hook, NJ. Duncan Munro, a private in one of the grenadier companies of the 1st, has been given dockside sentry duty.

Ken,
Any chance that you guys will package this grass product yourselves and sell it under H&A? I could see collectors buying it for dioramas.

I know a few Britains farmers that would buy reams of the stuff as well Ken, it's just what we are looking for.

Great dio's guys :)

Hello All,
At this point was have no plans to offer it as a stand alone product for Hudson & Allen, it is way too labour intensive, not to mention having a rather tricky application process. There is a fair amount of prep work that goes into it to even make it look like grass. As always we are on the lookout for easy to use products and if we find one, we will consider offering it as a H&A product. Sorry to disappoint.
All the Best,

Thanks for the reply Ericka. I was under the assumption that it was some type of mat that was used. Thanks for the explanation.

Thanks again.
