Good afternoon.
Am new to this Forum and there are some things I don't understand.
Why are the newer Britain's glossy finish figures in a different scale from the Britain's newer matte finish figures?

The size was chosen to maintain some compatibility with the older style figures that many collectors already had. These generally came in at about 54mm in height, although a figures height is not a real scale.

A scale is always a fractional number with the real world at 1/1 scale. The first number is the real world size and the second number is the scale size or reduction. This works very well for manufactured goods such as a vehicle, weapon or equipment in fixed sizes such as canteens or backpacks, but has always been very subjective for a figures height.
