The recent posts on the K&C page of John O'Brien's beautiful conversion of a new Britains music director made me dig out a band I put together from the Britains mid-1980s Seaforth Highlander sets. Only some repainting, with an attempt to preserve the unique look of the original paint (still on the pipers). The drummers come from the Black Watch band.

Also, if you scroll down, are some repaints of damaged hollowcast pipers done to look like the Scots Dragoon Guards musicians. You'll also see a John Hill conversion of a civilian piper in Dress MacPherson tartan, with streamers and feather cut from wine foil.

There is no end to things that can be done to round out a collection of toy soldiers!

Hi,

yet another fine pieces from your work bench. Very well done and very nicely painted.
You are right, there is so much that can be done to round out a collection of Toy Soldiers. As allways I like to read your posts and enjoy your work and ideas about Toy Soldiers. I am no expert on Scots but allways enjoyed the theme as such a lot. Happy to see collectors like you bringing them up here with an own personal note and a lot of invested care and dedication.
What is up next??{sm4}

Thank you for this posting

Regards
Wolfgang

Thanks for your kind words! Haven't put much time into the collection this year, for many good reasons, but still crawling through three themes with my tinkering:

1. American militia uniforms of the 19th and early 20th century (Britains West Point Cadets and the officer figure from sets like Yeoman of the Guard are great basis for these - thank goodness for recasts)
2. Officers for Scottish regiments to march in front of old Britains units (finding battered mtd highland officers in need of rehab is one of my recurring happy dreams)
3. Mass painting jobs for 20mm wargaming with my son using vintage Featherstone or Morschauser rules
