Some spray paints do ruin that foam stuff. I'm working on a foam project right now and i'm using Marc T's suggestion of painting it with black gesso first then paint and highlight.
I,m new to this whole pink and blue foam foam stuff what is black gesso? Can you post a link and give a few tips on working with it??? I saw the piece you did it looked real nice and gave me inspiration to try it myself. I just painted mine with a flat earth color and I just used hobby and craft paint as this is the first time tring this I just wanted to get some paint on it to see how it looked. I thuoght that it would just be a mess and that it would end up in the trash as it was just a trial piece but it turned out o.k. even after I almost melted it with that spray paint (I just flocked the melted areas). Alex post some pictures of your new piece when your done please. _____________________________________________________________________________ TIM

Gesso is like an a primer that you paint on. It grabs on to your foam and it will hold your acrylic paint real good. Its usualy in white but I found it in black which is good for shading in the crevices. My current project is a building but its pretty big. You and the other guys inspire me to continue more projects.

This setup is really nice. I wish I had talent in landscaping, because I have some pretty good ideas...

Anyway, well done!

Great stuf Fishead! I got some French from the same folks. Have not the guts to convert prepainted factory metals, yet, but yours look great!
I see a Frontline Pole wandering around in there too!I guess he wants revenge for Poniatowski and Liepzig!

You found that pole :D there are 2 of them actually and a few more none britains if you look around. There are a couple of metal castings that i painted mixed in there somewhere. They were mixed in with my britains stuff so I threw them in what the hell.:D I almost put in my frontline nassu guys in also but changed my mind at the last minute. _______________________________________________________________________ TIM

Send in the Naussers! What the heck, they fought hard at Waterloo so why not!!!!
I dont have any of the Frontline Naussers. I painted about 40 BMC and CTS as Naussers and I'll be a dirty name if they didnt come out just great! Even got some HELMET kits out of the UK for Nausser Grenadiers.Did another 24 Helmet kits as Dutch line, a few Jagers and repainted I think 16 or so Britians deetail as Belgian line.Have a pretty decent contingent of Dutch/Belgians, Brunswickers almost all plastic, probably 100 total.
Napoleonics is like a disease that hurts very good.No end to it.I have so many 1/2 done conversions and figures I started painting in one of my tubbs.

Frontline Napoleonics are addictive.I just got in some more British Cavalry, 23 Lt. Dragoons and 3 command figures for the Lifeguards.

Eyeballing all sorts of Bavarians{ have the gun set, a real beauty} Austrians{ yep, gun set there too} Poles, even Wesphalian Grenadiers, ect ect.
As nice as the new Britians sets coming down the pike look, I am hoping to see some new Napoleonics. Hopefully something "different".French in greatcoats? Light infantry? Russians?
You know of where a guy can buy those collector club Napoleonics these days?

Picture looks great fubar!!! :D I,ve got a bunch of plastic conversions half painted also lots of austrians british french ect, ect,. Its hard to find the time and pateince to finish them. I have a bunch of dutch belgian troops painted in plastic also (cts and call to arms) I,ve wanted to do some nassau grenadiers conversions but its hard to find the buggies hats. I thought of useing the ones from the iteri french artillary but that would cost to munch. I,m starting to get into the frontline napoleonics also. I like the new artillary sets they came out with. I think the prussain and russain sets look the best but the austrain set has my eye also and i have a ton of austrian plastics that i,ve started to paint and convert to go with them. My only problem with frontline is the face detail it looks like japanese cartoons. If they had better face detail i would be addicted to them with their wide range. You also brought up one of my favorites the barvarians. I,ve tried to convert some call to arms french light inf. into barvarians by making my own helmets out of 2 part putty but it was going to be alot of work so i only made a few. How did I get myself into this addiction, I should have gotten hooked on drugs there cheaper.:D
